“’The Lady Doth Protest Too Much’: Israel’s ‘Right to Exist’ Under Public International Law and the Future of the Middle East Post-Genocide”

18/06/2026

As part of Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law Research Seminar, Professor Fadıl will critically address the narratives constructed by Israel to silence critical voices, analysing them from an international law perspective. The discussion will further engage with the legal and political dimensions of the genocide in Gaza and consider its implications for the post-genocide future of the Middle East, particularly in relation to questions of accountability, legitimacy, and regional order under international law.
