The Boğaziçi Law Review, published by the Faculty of Law at Boğaziçi University, has released Volume 4, Issue 1 (June 2026).

The issue includes the following contributions:

  • Assoc. Dr. Hüseyin Çağrı Çorlu, in his article “Benefıts Of Wto Accessıon For A Civil War-Torn Country Wıth Tattered Institutions,” examines the potential benefits of the Syrian Arab Republic's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), despite its not yet having fully established the rule of law or an effective central government. The analysis is conducted within the framework of the WTO Agreement and the reports of WTO accession working parties.
  • Dr. iur. Sinan Karabacak, in his article “Artificial Intelligence And The Liability Regime in Austria in the Context of European Union Law,” examines the liability regime applicable to artificial intelligence systems under Austrian law, focusing on fault-based liability, strict liability, and product liability within the framework of the Austrian Civil Code (ABGB) and European Union law.
  • Dr. Yi Lu, in her article “State-Centric Development Vv Civil Society Resistance: The Belt and Road Initiative’s Contested Role in Post-Conflict Reconstruction,” examines whether a state-centred development model contributes to governance failures in fragile institutional settings through the lens of infrastructure projects implemented in various countries.
  • Dr. Anosh Naderi, in his article “Attacking Identity: Why Cultural Heritage Trafficking Must be Recognized as Crime Against Humanity,” examines that the illicit trafficking of cultural heritage committed in peacetime should be recognized as a crime against humanity under international law in order to enable source countries to better protect the shared cultural heritage of humankind.
